Winner – ‘Making an Impact’ at the HTN Now Awards 2022

Ashtons e-Works recently won the ‘Making an Impact’ award from Health Tech News (HTN) in January 2022. The awards share and celebrate innovations, teams and health tech suppliers that have made a difference throughout the year.

We are delighted to have won this award and it is a testament to the real impact e-Works has had in hospices across the UK. Prescribing errors have reduced in our clients healthcare facilities by 88% and medicines administration errors by 94%, with a 92% reduction in patient details errors.*

* Error rates were measured in the six months prior to implementation. A three-month window was then allowed following implementation, then error rates were measured again in the following six months.

Ashtons e-Works is proven to reduce medicines administration errors by up to 94%

The government has current targets in place for all healthcare facilities to become paperless by 2024. This will include patient records, pharmacy reports, prescription charts and ordering.

A key aspect of developing a paperless system in any healthcare facility is the introduction of an electronic prescribing and medicines administration (ePMA) system.

Since its launch our Ashtons e-Works ePMA system has been proven to reduce prescribing errors by up to 88% and medicines administration errors by up to 94%.

In addition, the Department of Health itself believes the rollout of electronic prescribing systems could reduce errors overall by 50%.

However, many ePMA systems are often highly expensive and unnecessarily complex. Ashtons e-Works is designed to be different.

Ashtons e-Works is different – a simple, affordable alternative

Ashtons e-Works is a unique system that has been designed as an affordable and easy-to-use alternative, that is perfectly suited to the requirements of independent hospices and hospitals. It will allow you to manage both your patients’ prescriptions and the administration of their medication, 24/7, from anywhere with internet access.

Ashtons e-Works replaces paper medication records, such as prescription charts, and is transformational in improving the safe prescribing and administration of medication. It will also ensure faster access to medication, reduce duplications of patient records and help to free up staff time.
